Impact that strengthens systems and improves lives
Practical improvements our partners have achieved in how families access information and services, how institutions engage with communities and how systems respond to complex challenges.
Supporting partners to deliver positive impact worldwide
For nearly two decades, we have worked in diverse contexts and complex environments, supporting partners to apply social and behavioural insight, co-design and clear communication to achieve meaningful outcomes for people and nature.
Where we have supported partners to strengthen capacity and systems, and improve how communities are reached, engaged and supported.
Delivered across six continents with UNICEF, UN Women, UNFPA, Vital Strategies and other partners.
Where insight-driven strategies, tools or communication approaches co-created with partners have been adopted in practice.
Some of our achievements
Getting everyone in the picture
In Cambodia, our support to strengthen community engagement helped partners improve how birth and death registration is understood and valued.
After piloting the new approach, 14 targeted communes reported that average birth registration rates rose from 67 to 77 percent, improving access to essential protection and services for children.
Supporting young people’s mental wellbeing
In Malaysia, we supported partners to better understand the barriers adolescents face in seeking mental health support.
These insights were workshopped with young people, service providers and decision makers to co-create approaches that are informing national efforts to reduce stigma and encourage earlier help-seeking among adolescents.
Increasing trust and uptake of immunisation
In Madagascar, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Venezuela, we worked with partners to understand what shapes caregivers’ vaccination decisions and how interactions with health workers influence trust.
This work informed adjustments to immunisation programs and led to practical tools that support frontline staff to engage caregivers more effectively.
Capacity and system strengthening
Across Eritrea, Timor-Leste, Tanzania, Afghanistan, Belize, Lao PDR, Cambodia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Seychelles and Eswatini, we supported partners to strengthen national and subnational capacity and systems to engage communities more effectively.
This contributed to clearer guidance, refreshed strategies and trained facilitators and master trainers who are now cascading skills across sectors and regions, strengthening programs in health, nutrition, child wellbeing and emergency preparedness.
Designing communication that mobilises and informs
In South Africa, Lao PDR, Venezuela, Ecuador, Argentina, Indonesia Nepal, and Papua New Guinea we supported partners to design communication tools and campaigns that reached millions of families and adolescents. These efforts promoted healthier behaviours, better nutrition habits, children s rights, improved hygiene practices, road safety and greater preparedness for disasters.
Helping systems respond better during emergencies
In Liberia, Iraq, Lao PDR and Afghanistan, we supported partners to strengthen communication and community engagement during public health emergencies, including COVID-19 and ongoing polio outbreaks. This contributed to clearer guidance for frontline teams and more reliable, trusted information for families during periods of uncertainty.
